Elections of TCLA and the Business Districts of Camden, Morgan and MIller Board Members


On this date, March 20, 2020, the Tri-County Lodging Board of Directors approved postponing the Annual Meeting and Advisory Board Elections until Wednesday, May 27th, 2020.  In light of the recent declaration of a ‘State of Emergency’ by the Governor of Missouri, and further ordered by the Camden County Commission and Camden County Health Department, that gatherings be limited to ten (10) persons or less, the Board voted to postpone out of concern for the health and safety of our membership and staff.

The Board Member voting process is as follows:

Nominations to fill expired terms shall be made by mail within the membership of each category, not less than forty-five (45) days prior to the election.

The membership shall be notified of said nominations not less than thirty (30) days prior to the election.  All nominees will be contacted to confirm that they are willing to appear on the ballot and serve on the Board. 

Election of Board members shall be at the Annual Meeting, with absentee ballots available to those members appearing at the appropriate County Clerk’s office.

Thirty (30) days prior to the election date, an Election Memo will be sent to all eligible voters advising them of the candidates and of the opportunity to vote by Absentee Ballot at their respective County Clerk’s offices.  The deadline to vote at the County Clerk’s offices will be the day prior to the annual election date, by 12:00 p.m.  The ballots will either be retrieved or delivered to the TCLA offices to be included in their Annual Election.  This information will also be included in the Election Memo.

On the Annual Election date, in the presence of other Board members and the general public, the ballots will be counted, and the winner(s) will be announced.
